Superior Musicianship, great collection! Idk where I've been, but I just really found Alison & US a few weeks ago on AXS TV. It was a live performance but this is just as exhilirating. She quickly has become one of my favorite vocalists. The re-issue of 'You're Just a Country Boy' would make Jim Croce and Don Williams proud.
My new favorite song is the second track 'Simple Love', written by Sara Siskind. It somehow finished 2nd for a Grammy in 2008.
Another flowing masterpiece is 'Away Down the River'. Purists may consider some of the songs heavily produced but the song selection is so unique compared to other 'country' albums. There are titles on this release which feature contemporary country design, 19th century bluegrass breakdowns, and irish folk melodies. It has everything a new or old fan of Alison will enjoy. Union Station features some of the finest pure musicians in the world to boot!
